Panera Bread "CAP OFF" campaign to benefit OhioHealth Foundation
Panera Bread will once again promote a week-long fundraising campaign in 32 Columbus-area restaurants that benefits the OhioHealth Foundation, the Official Benefiting Charity of the OhioHealth Capital City Half Marathon.
The promotion encourages Panera Bread patrons to “CAP OFF” meals purchased January 25-31 with a $1 donation. Proceeds benefit fragile newborns in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at OhioHealth Riverside Methodist Hospital and hospice patients at Kobacker House, OhioHealth's inpatient hospice care facility.
“From the first precious moments of life to the last, OhioHealth is there to improve your health and that of your loved ones,” said Karen Morrison, OhioHealth Foundation president. “For many runners, OhioHealth Capital City Half Marathon is a celebration — whether that's celebrating a healthy, active lifestyle or running in memory of a loved one and celebrating that person's life. Your support [for the race and at Panera Bread] will carry on OhioHealth's mission to improve the health of those they serve from the beginning of life to the end of life.”
The partnership is a direct result of both companies involvement with the OhioHealth Capital City Half Marathon. OhioHealth is the race's title sponsor and “Official Healthcare Provider,” while Panera Bread is the event's “Official Restaurant.”
“We are proud to continue our partnership with OhioHealth and M3S Sports to be a resource to those trying to make positive lifestyle choices, said Liz Fiorino, Regional Marketing Director for Covelli Enterprises. “Panera Bread has always been an industry leader in promoting healthy options, but it has become a growing focus as good eating habits play an increasingly significant role in overall wellness.”
In addition to the “CAP OFF” campaign, the 32 Panera Bread locations will collect donations in canisters located at registers to benefit the cause for the month of January.
Panera Bread also carries the Official Training Menu of the OhioHealth Capital City Half Marathon during the month of March. The menu includes recommendations for healthy eating during training and a special registration offer for the event. The menu can be found at participating Panera restaurants — a special registration offer.
“OhioHealth and Panera Bread are two great partners of the OhioHealth Capital City Half Marathon and we are proud that they will continue this terrific campaign in 2016,Race Director David Babner said. “This is a great example of the charitable benefits that are often associated with hosting major road races.”
The OhioHealth Capital City Half Marathon, Patrón Quarter Marathon and 10TV Commit To Be Fit 5K will be held April 30, 2016 in downtown Columbus.
