Half Marathon – 5k – Kids Mascot Chase
Join us for a 13.1 or 3.1 mile block party....
The events are a celebration of athletes, young and old, fast and slow. Everyone gets a warrior's
send off at the start, a hero's welcome at the finish line, and, of course the BIG
Honkin' PENGUIN Finisher's Medal.

Record Field of More Than 5,000 Races through Streets of Columbus

Congratulations to all of you who finished the 2008 Capital City Half Marathon or Commit to Be Fit 5k this year!
You were part of a sold out record crowd of over 5,000. The results for both events are posted and the race photos
are available on RunPhotos.com.
While there are too many people to thank for making this event a success than we can name here, we do want to give a
special thank you to Lt. Barth and the Columbus Police Department, Mark McMurray and the Columbus Fire Department, our
medical director Dr. Darrin Bright and the best medical team in the region, Andrea Cambern, Mayor Coleman and the over
800 volunteers who helped make this event possible. Most of all, we want to thank YOU for making us a part of your active
healthy lifestyle.
There were many special moments on Saturday — from the vision of hundreds of kids chasing the 20 plus mascots
around the arena district, to the thousands of people moving their way up Nationwide Avenue at the start of both races.
It was also great to watch the volunteers from the Special Olympics handing out medals to all of the finishers.
Email us some of your special moments (see below), and if you took photos we may post them as well.
